ABOUT RIPTIDE

WELCOME TO SURFSIDE… IT’S A GREAT PLACE TO DIE!

Surfside—an up-and-coming coastal paradise where the sun is shining, the water is warm, and the women are beautiful.

For former St. Louis Detective Michael Stark, it’s a fresh start—an escape from the notoriety and scandal of the life he left behind. But when a rogue tiger shark begins to terrorize this coastal community, Stark and his partner, Liza Sallings, are tasked with stopping the bloodshed.

Meanwhile, just offshore, another danger is gathering: a hurricane unlike any the Gulf Coast has ever faced…

This work is presented as it was originally created and may contain outdated and offensive cultural depictions.

ABOUT DONALD CHEATHAM

Donald D. Cheatham was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and attended Southern Illinois University, where he studied creative writing and journalism. After leaving a career in the business world, Cheatham devoted himself full-time to freelance writing, relocating to Florida for health reasons and drawing inspiration from the region’s climate, wildlife, and coastal hazards. His work appeared in the Tampa Bay Times, the Tampa Bay Tribune, Bay Life, and The Floridian. In 1984, Zebra Books published his Florida-set adventure novel Riptide, which he placed without the aid of an agent after submitting only a portion of the manuscript to publishers. He passed away in 2012.
